Welcome to our school web site.  We are very proud of West Teays Elementary and the opportunities that we strive to provide for our students.  We continually focus on our mission statement and goals in order to provide the most appropriate curriculum and instruction.  When you visit our school, you will notice that technology is an integral part of every classroom with 4-6 computers available for students to utilize.  Please visit or contact us if you have additional questions.

Our mission:
The mission of West Teays Elementary is to encourage academic excellence and the development of social and personal character skills in all students.  To accomplish this, the staff pledges:

-  to provide a nurturing environment for positive self-esteem;
-  to create a rich, varied curriculum that accommodates different
    learning styles; and
-  to build a cooperative link between home, school, and community,
    recognizing the unique, transient, diverse community we serve.

Our goals :
1.  Each student will demonstrate mastery of the adopted curriculum.
2.  Each student will recognize his/her talents, interests, and abilities.
3.  Each student will exhibit a positive attitude about learning and
     develop appropriate study skills and work habits.
4.  Each student will develop a positive self-concept and acceptance of others.
5.  Each student will acquire independent and creative thinking skills.
6.  Each student will develop appropriate individual and group behaviors.
