The community is a rural town, located halfway between Huntington and Charleston. Winfield High School is the newest of the four high schools in Putnam County. | WHS News and Announcements Paris & Barcelona - 2009 The world language teachers in Putnam County are planning a trip to Paris & Barcelona for June 15-22, 2009. We will be traveling with EF Educational Tours since they guarantee the lowest prices, have 40 years of experience, and are accredited. It is the only tour company that offers high school credit for students. We will begin our eight day tour in Paris, France, seeing the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and Notre Dame Cathedral, and much more! Then we will take a night train to Barcelona, Spain, and have the wonderful opportunity to visit La Sagrada Familia church, Parque Guell, and attend a Flamenco dance. In addition to the other cities, there is an extension to Zaragoza and Madrid, Spain for an additional cost. The price of the tour is $2,623 for students and $2,888 for adults. This includes round-trip airfare, lodging, breakfast and dinner daily, a full-time bilingual EF Tour Director, 3 sightseeing tours, 2 walking tours, and 4 visits to special attractions.
