Pre-K Registration Pre-K registration for the 2009-10 school year will be held on May 12th. Please call 562-3630 for an appointment. Pre-K is available, but not required, for any child who will be four by September 1, 2009. The following items will be required: Proof of Residency, Immunization Record, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate from Vital Statistics. Current Pre-K students will attend school on May 12th. Visitors All visitors must check in at the office before going anywhere else in the building. This is necessary for the safety and well-being of our children. Your presence in your child’s classroom is a distraction to him/her and to others. If you feel that it is essential for you to visit a classroom during an instructional period, please contact the Principal. Parents or visitors are not to park where buses are unloading or loading children. Generally this is 7:25 - 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 -3:00 p.m.
ARRIVAL Students who walk or who are driven to school in a private car need not arrive before 7:50 a.m. We are not responsible for students dropped off prior to 7:20 a.m. That will be considered child neglect and reported to the proper authorities. DEPARTURE Parents picking up students at dismissal are asked not to arrive at school prior to 2:55 p.m. Students riding busses will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. and 2:47 p.m. Parents will be permitted in the bus lane at approximately 2:55 after the last bus (#940) arrives. Unless there is a written note from home to the contrary, students will always be sent home by their usual mode of transportation. A student’s word alone shall not be sufficient reason to cause the school to deviate from the child’s normal method of getting home. No student shall be permitted to leave the school before the closing hour without the permission of the principal. No student shall be permitted to leave before the closing time unless he/she is in the custody of a parent, a school employee, a police officer, a court official, or a relative or friend with written permission from a parent/guardian. Please do not sign your child out early unless it is absolutely necessary. Such departures interrupt not only your child’s learning, but the learning of others as well. Students will not be checked out during the last 15 minutes of school in an attempt to merely beat the buses.
If school is dismissed early for any reason – severe weather conditions or similar emergencies – please make arrangements with your child regarding where he/she is to go if no one would be at home when he/she arrives. Please DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL, as our telephone lines are needed to get information from the Board Office. The school cannot be responsible for calling you. A form will be sent home for you to complete and return if your child’s normal departure routine is to be altered in the event that school is dismissed early.
| Parent-Teacher Conferences |

Parent – Teacher Conferences will be scheduled during the year. Appointment forms will be sent home prior to each conference. If you desire a conference with a teacher at any other time please contact the principal or the secretary and an appointment will be arranged. Do not come and expect to see a teacher during class time. It isn’t fair to the other students in the class. Also, teachers may not talk or have conferences after the morning bell has rung. The scheduled dates for conferences are as follows: October 13, 2008 (3:30-6:30pm) February 16, 2009 (3:30-6:30pm)
