Important information from our Superintendent regarding the Swine Flu
In accordance with Putnam County Policy, no sixth grade student will be permitted to play football.
Football practice begins August 10th from 9-12. Students must have a physical and proof of insurance.
Welcome to George Washington Middle School! GWMS is a traditional middle school, providing a positive and supportive environment for its students, staff and their families. The school is located in the beautiful city of Eleanor, WV. Our student body consists of approximately 310 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. GWMS Mission Statement
The mission of George Washington Middle School, as a part of Putnam County Schools, is to ensure that every student masters the curriculum and achieves academic success. We will dedicate our time, resources, and practices to closing the achievement gap, bringing every student to mastery and beyond, and preparing every student for success in a diverse and changing world. Working with the home and community, we will build a supportive system characterized by ethical behaviors, mutual respect, professionalism, and collaboration.
