GENERAL SCHOOL PROCEDURES 1. Buses arrive from 7:15 - 7:25 AM. DO NOT DROP STUDENTS OFF BEFORE 7:15. There is no supervision before this time. 2. Upon arrival, students eating breakfast must go directly to the cafeteria. Those not eating breakfast will go directly to homeroom. 3. Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 AM. Students arriving after 7:45 must sign in at the office and obtain a tardy slip. 4. Students who bring a cold lunch CANNOT BRING CARBONATED BEVERAGES (THOSE THAT FIZZ) TO SCHOOL. Nor should they bring anything in glass containers. 5. Students have a ten minute break daily and may bring a snack to school. No drinks please. A paper (75 cents) and a pencil (25 cents) machine are located in the front hall. 6. There are two dismissal bells. The first bell at 2:15 PM dismisses students who ride the bus. The second bell at 2:20 dismisses students who are picked up or who walk home. 7. PARENTS MUST SEND A NOTE IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN STUDENT’S TRANSPORTATION OR DESTINATION. Changes can be taken over the phone; however, it is best if plans can be made at home with the child before he/she comes to school. 8. Students leaving before 2:15 PM must be signed out by an authorized adult. 9. Visitors are welcome at our school. ALL VISITORS AND OR PARENTS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICE UPON ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL. Parents are not to enter classrooms without the approval of the principal. Parents waiting to pick up students should wait in the front hall. It is distracting to students when parents wait outside classrooms and look in the windows. 10. Students are not permitted to use the phone except in an emergency. An emergency is defined as illness, forgotten lunch, eyeglasses, or medication. 11. There are two Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled each year. However, teachers can meet with parents after school or on their planning time. 12. All concerns or questions about school policy should be directed to the principal. Classroom concerns should be directed to the teacher.
It is the responsibility of each student at Eastbrook Elementary to display the qualities of a good citizen in all areas of the school and on the bus. Orderly, quiet, and respectful conduct is expected at all times in the hallways, cafeteria, playground, classrooms, and on the school bus. Students should expect all staff to remind them of behavioral mistakes. Special emphasis will be placed on honesty, morality, courtesy, and respect. Obedience to school rules, respect for our country’s flag, respect for school staff, parents, and home are characteristics desisred and expected of all Eastbrook students.
