Poca Middle School has AYP for the second year in a row.  This past year in all middle schools in Putnam County our school was first in nine of the eighteen categories.  If you see a Poca Middle School student congratulate them on their accomlishment.

2008-2009

We are pleased to announce that the school has received some wonderful new upgrades this year.  As a student when you walk into the building you will see that the school and lockers have been completely repainted.  A new roof is being installed on Mrs. Clark's and Mrs. Rucker's portable.  There has also been new trim installed around these windows.  The floors of the school are so brillant that you can see your reflection in them.  Mrs. Parkins and Mrs. Richards have received new floors in their rooms.  If you remember walking into these rooms and seeing all the missing floor tiles you would not believe the change.  We would like to thank Putnam County Schools for helping to make our school a place that the students can take pride in.  We would also like to thank Keith Hawley for working on the floors and making the school shine. 

Reminders 2008-2009

 

• Students will use the front door only when entering the building before school.
• Parents are not to pull onto the hill to drop off students.  Students are to be dropped off in the parking area in front of the school.
• Before school the students will be restricted to areas in the lunchroom by grade level.
• There will be no holes in clothing, this poses a safety hazard and will either be covered up with tape or a parent will be called.  Violation of this rule will be detention.
• There are to be no cell phones in the possession of students during the school day.

1^st violation 3 days d-hall.  2^nd Violation Saturday School.  If you have an emergency and need to get in touch with your student please call the school.
