These graduation requirements are effective for students entering grade 9 in the school years 1999-2000 through 2007. English Language Arts: 4 credits *English 9, 10, 11, 12 Mathematics: 3 credits *Two of the three credits will be Algebra 1 and above. Science: 3 credits *Coordinated and Thematic Science (hereinafter CATS) 9, Coordinated and Thematic Science 10, and one course above the Coordinated and Thematic Science 10 level. Social Studies: 4 credits *United States to 1900, World Studies to 1900, and Twentieth/Twenty-First Centuries Civics Physical Education: 1 credit Health 1 credit The Arts 1 credit Career Majors 4 credits *Career majors are to be determined at the local school or county level. Electives 4 credits *Electives will be chosen from the school’s offerings of elective courses. Work-based Learning Work-based learning will be determined at the local level.
Final Exam Policy All teachers in all subjects will give comprehensive exams at the middle and end of each term. All students will be required to take mid-term exams. Students may earn an exemption from end of term exams. Students are eligible to be exempt from end of term exams by earning a grade of “C” or better and having three or fewer absences in a specific course. Also, other stipulations associated with the cheating policy and dressing for physical education apply.
